The word Hepatitis comes from the Greek word and relates to the inflammation of the liver, caused by infectious or toxic agents and characterized by jaundice, fever, liver enlargement, and abdominal pain. Canine hepatitis is a disease of the liver, and other body organs. Vaccination is a preventative measure against hepatitis and is 99% effective.

Canine hepatitis is a serious, and often life threatening disease - death can occur in less than 2 hours. It is spread by body fluids including nasal discharge and urine.

Canine Hepatitis is a virus and initial symptoms are as follows:

Coughing - sore throat
Eyes - may appear bluish ( hepatitis blue eye )
Abdominal Pain
Liver / Kidney failure - seizures / vomiting / diarrhea
